Project Description:
TriHealth was in need of a new data center to support their health network operations. ThermalTech studied and identified an existing property that had formerly used for medical imaging. ThermalTech provided design and construction services to gut and rebuild the space for use as the primary data center for the health system.
This project entailed the following key design and construction services:
Site Construction:
- Stormwater improvements
- Creation of a secure generator yard
General Construction:
- Relocation of structural columns and addition of roof structure to support HVAC equipment
- Complete roof replacement including re-tapering and elimination of roof drains from the computer room space
- Hardening of the exterior including removal of all windows and storefront and infilling with brick and steel entry doors
- Installation of a loading dock
- New interior buildout for computer room, electrical rooms, office spaces, restroom, and support spaces
- Raised floor installation in dock, support space, electric rooms, and computer room
Electrical Construction:
- Construction of (2) new electric utility services, generators, transfer controls, and distribution systems
- Installation of (2) new UPS systems with transformer PDUs and Busway distribution to racks
Mechanical Construction:
- Installation of N+1 computer room air conditioning systems (CRAC) for computer and electric rooms
Fire Alarm and Suppression Construction:
- Installation of a new fire alarm and VESDA systems
- Installation of a dry fire suppression systems in each electric room and in the computer room
